Strings at UNO
The University String Program at UNO provides a variety of on-campus performing opportunities through the the Heartland Philharmonic, Chamber Orchestra, and small chamber music ensembles. A variety of masterclasses and recitals presented throughout the year offers students opportunities to study with outstanding performing artists and educators. Off-campus, many students are able to audition and perform for the Omaha Symphony Orchestra and Opera Omaha.
The University String Program offers a variety of opportunities for talented student-musicians interested in string instrumental music. Membership in all ensembles is open to music majors and non-music majors and scholarships are available. Each program offers strong musical training and unique social activities that can significantly contribute to the college experience. Ensemble experiences and private lessons are available to further each student's musical education.
